SR Timber moves to new HQ

SR Timber has moved into new, larger premises in North Nottinghamshire as part of ambitious growth plans.

We had previously shared offices with a sister company in Derby, but the move to our own premises in Huthwaite (just off Junction 28 of the M1) heralds the next phase of our remarkable growth.

Trading Director Shaun Revill said that the team at SR Timber were all excited about the move to a new head office because they have more room and more facilities.

“The move to new premises marks the start of another exciting chapter for SR Timber in a story that is all the more remarkable because the business was only founded a little over ten years ago,” said Shaun.

“There is genuine excitement amongst the team over the move, and we have all taken a few moments to savour the feeling because it highlights just how far this business has come in such a short space of time.

“It’s no exaggeration to say that SR Timber has really bucked the trend in our industry, but we are simply giving roofers what they want – the right timber products at the right quality and at the right price. And that’s why we have grown so rapidly.”

The cornerstone of our growth has been the fact that we have been at the forefront on raising standards on the quality, performance and durability of timber roofing batten – best exemplified with the introduction of BS5534, the recent new regulations on roofing.

Sales of SR Timber’s Premium Gold batten continue to increase because it is sustainably sourced from slow-grown timber and is fully compliant to both BS8417:2011 + A1:2014 and BS5534:2014. Premium Gold is approved by the NFRC and NHBC and comes with a 60-year warranty against insect attack and wood-rotting fungi (when installed above DPC level in buildings).

Reflecting on the move, Shaun added: “The new HQ is another piece in the jigsaw for our business, which, because of our partnership with Timberex, means we effectively have our own sawmill – which is said to be the largest production mill solely for the production of factory-graded roofing battens in Europe.

“This gives SR Timber complete continuity through our entire supply chain, and that is a good thing for all the roofers in the UK who rely on the constant supply of our flagship Premium Gold timber roofing batten used on roofs right across the UK.”
