SR Timber reassures industry over stock availability

As the availability of some roofing materials continues to affect parts of the house-building industry, SR Timber has moved to reassure the market that the supply of its flagship Premium Gold roofing batten remains unaffected.

We have had meetings with our entire supply chain to confirm our ability to continue to supply materials at current levels. Typically, we can process and deliver orders within 48 hours.

Our Trading Director Shaun Revill said that since last summer, sectors within the roofing and house-building industry have been experiencing a shortage of supplies and raw materials, so it was important to let the market know that SR Timber isn’t experiencing the same problems.

“The UK’s decision to leave the EU has been the catalyst for a series of unprecedented events – including knock-on effects such as a lack of readily available materials that the roofing industry relies on,” said Shaun.

“We are acutely aware of the need to provide a reliable source of materials that our customers can depend on. We have tested the strength of every link in our supply chain and it stands up to scrutiny, ensuring that we have plentiful supplies of timber roofing batten such as Premium Gold.

“We have a regular and ongoing dialogue with all of our supply chain, including the Latvian government. We are in constant touch with our sawmill to discuss production and output levels and we maintain close control of our logistics network – which includes shipping finished products to our timber terminals in the UK.

“We’re continually monitoring the whole situation and can assure the industry that we have the scale of production to flex our capacity to support our customers’ and suppliers’ needs.”
