Shaun Revill, co-founder of SR Timber, has been presented with the ‘Service to the Industry’ Award at this year’s Timber Development UK (TDUK) Annual Awards Dinner. The event, held in London on 5th November, is the largest in the timber industry calendar, with over 400 members in attendance.
The annual event, according to David Hopkins, CEO of TDUK, “shines a spotlight on just seven companies and individuals that go above and beyond in their service to the timber industry. There’s so much incredible talent, passion and dedication right across our industry, much of which goes under the radar. So, these awards help bring to light the accomplishments of our members.”
Shaun Revill was asked up to the stage to receive his award, and David Hopkins explained that the award had been given to Shaun, as a third-generation roofer, due to his passion for timber grading, quality and regulation. He explained that Shaun’s robust enforcement is well respected throughout the industry, particularly since founding his own business 20 years ago.

“I’m delighted to have been given this award by my peers in the industry. My mantra has always been about the importance of only using quality graded timber battens in the construction of both new and refurbished roofs. It is all about protecting roofers who work at heights, keeping our homes water-tight, and ensuring that the batten can do its job in holding the weight of roofing tiles, so that homeowners are protected too. It is a constant education process, and I feel proud that this work is recognised across the TDUK membership.” Said Shaun.
Shaun and his team attend the awards each year. It is a night of celebration and networking with industry peers.
